GRNE Solar is developing a 2MW solar array that will produce electrical power on behalf of Kendall County who will be the exclusive buyer. The renewable electrical generation will serve the Kendall County Courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Health Department. The investment will be approximately $2.8 million.
GRNE Solar will construct and maintain the solar array, owning the equipment under a 25-year lease with Kendall County. The project will take approximately nine months to complete. The project will create 35-30 construction jobs and 2-3 permanent jobs for oversight and maintenance of the project during its lifecycle.
Project added to the Zone in 2020.
