Northern White Sands is a silica sand mining and processing company on 562 acres in LaSalle County, IL. The project was the construction of a wet sand slurry line, a sand drying facility and new transload rail site in LaSalle County, IL. The sand is dried, sized and transported by truck to the trans load site and loaded into railcars. The rail service site, on 25 acres, stores and manages hopper railcars and services accounts transporting bulk cement from truck to railcar. They process over 150,000 tons of product annually. The project cost was $71,000,000 and created 242 full-time jobs.
