Exolon ESK Co. is a producer of Silicon Carbide. In 1996, the company built a sulferox desulfurization plant at their facility in Hennepin, IL (Putnam County). The new facility removes hydrogen sulfide from a by-product waste gas to be converted into elemental sulfur. The resulting sulfur-free gas will then be piped to a power plant for use as a fuel source.
